In her recent New York Times op-ed, Maureen Dowd takes aim at Google, blaming it for the sorry state of the newspaper industry. Perhaps in hopes of winning people over to the newspapers’ side in the argument over how much Google should be profiting from their content, Dowd spends a lot of the article attempting to make the reader fear Google, trying to paint the company as anti-privacy and bent on “world domination.”

Updated: Twitter Security Collapses; Obama, Fox and Britney Accounts Hacked
Days after a wave of phishing attacks fooled thousands of Twitter users, it appears that another security hole has been found by…someone. Obama’s account, unused since election day, sent out an affiliate link to a survey with a gas card prize, Fox News said that “Bill O’Reily is gay” (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and Britney Spears made a lewd post about her anatomy.

Celebrity Porn Scandal Rocks Internet in China
A pink MacBook, a computer repair shop, an internationally renowned actor and eight female pop stars are at the center of what is being described as the biggest Internet sex scandal in China. It all began last year, when Edison Chen, a star of “Infernal Affairs”–the movie that inspired Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed”–dropped off his custom pink MacBook at a repair shop. Then in late January, thousands of sexually explicit images began appearing on the Internet that showed Chen in rather compromising positions with eight of the region’s most popular actresses and singers. Authorities say the images were illegally copied from the computer by repair technicians.
